Senior Account Manager (Defense)

Description

A Senior Account Manager at Versant is responsible for driving bookings in a territory consisting of a set of named accounts that operate in the Defense Industry. Territories vary by country/region. This role reports to the EVP, Worldwide Field Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Prospect, identify, qualify and develop sales pipeline
  • Close business to meet monthly, quarterly and annual bookings objectives
  • Ensure all strategic and target accounts are fully aware of Versants products and services
  • Enhance business relationships to leverage additional opportunities
  • Provide timely and accurate Forecasting and management reports as requested
  • Sell complete solutions of software, professional services, and support to enhance the customers ability to succeed
  • Work with Marketing to conduct seminars, webinars, assist with trade shows, and other marketing related events in territory.
  • Work with Customer Service to ensure that defense customers are well supported and willing to reference our abilities in the defense industry.
  • Travel to customer locations, marketing events, and internal Versant events as required
  • Exercise prudent expense controls
Qualifications
  • B.A. / B.S. or equivalent work experience
  • MANDATORY - 5-7 years experience in software solution sales, with 3-5 years database sales preferred
  • MANDATORY – experience of selling to or working with Defense Contractors, Navy or Value Added Service Providers in the Defense marketl
  • PREFERRED – experience in selling in one or more of the following areas: C4I2 Systems, Model and Simulation
  • Good understanding of the defense marketplace, including industry drivers and technology trends
  • High-tech background including database and infrastructure software experience
  • MANDATORY - Demonstrated history of regular goal achievement in highly competitive environment (top 10% performer) with objectives in excess of US$1.5M p.a.
  • Energetic, upbeat, tenacious team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding relationship building skills with a high degree of responsiveness and integrity
  • MANDATORY- Familiarity with database, application/web server, and other enterprise markets and technologies
  • Highly mobile, with experience of driving business whilst on the move
